Inventory audit report display with FIFO method

Former Member

Dear All

I would like to know, if I use FIFO method.

Does inventory audit report show the correct result or not?

I select one item to generate the inventory audit report, the result is not my expectation.

The first 5 columns (Posting date~Trans. value) are generated from inventory audit report, and then I use FIFO method to calculate the remaining stock value.

There has around 47.59 difference. I found out the difference is caused by -107 x 92.67679 and -2 x 68.88=-10054.17.

Do I make any mistake?

Regards

Edmund

My SAP vendor ask me to do the FIFO method without group by warehouse, but the difference is bigger than before.

Does SAP has any document to explain their FIFO method?

The FIFO calculation may only be done by system date if there is conflict when you try to post past date posting.

Dear Gordon

I have checked both posting date and system date.

I found that system date (03-01-2015) and posting date (31-12-2014).

inventory audit report allow to select posting and system date, but the result must not equal.

when i check account balance on stock account, it use posting date to calculate, so that posting date may be correct.

Dear Nagarjan

I found that inventory transfer does not follow the FIFO method.

For example

Batch 1 1000 pics $1

Batch 2 300 pics $1.1

Batch 3 100 pics $1.2

Batch 4 400 pics $1.3

Batch 5 200 pics $1.4

Inventory transfer from warehouse A to B 1000 pics

according from inventory audit report result, it shows

Batch 2 -300 pics $1.1

Batch 3 -100 pics $1.2

Batch 4 -400 pics $1.3

Batch 5 -200 pics $1.4

And that item is not using serial no, so that I can't find any reason in the table oinm, why the system select Batch 2 ~5?

and the PDF file seem not mention for each case.

In this example, how many you had transferred? Is 1000 or 2000? Give an actual example to show.

Dear Gordon

Inventory transfer from warehouse A to B 1000 pics

That is 1000.

Actual example as follow

The first pic is showing the result that system receive and issue by inventory transfer IM100238 and IM100482. So that the open qty is 600. the cost is 725.478296.

Total value is 435286.9734.

The second pic is showing the same inventory aduit report result, but I just FIFO method to calculate it manually,

the open qty is 240 + 190 + 5 +30 +135,

the cost is 725.4783,732.308,732.308,731.2557,725.4783.

Total value is 436792.091.

the difference is 1505.11761

Hi Edmund,

Do you allow negative inventory or not? If yes, then it would be very difficult or no way to make the calculation correct.

Thanks,

Gordon

Dear Gordon

The setting is not allow negative inventory.

But I found that it has negative transaction.

But this sample does not have negative transaction.
