ERROR: ORA-01031: insufficient privileges

Dear All,

My Production server, Windows 2008, Oracle 11g. I am getting error (ERROR: ORA-01031: insufficient privileges) while login at Oracle SQL level. If I ignore the popup & after 'enter' it will automatically connect.

The shocking thing is that It happens only in first time after taking remote through MSTSC. If whenever I am taking the remote again, again I will get the same error.

My server is working properly. There is no issue.

It should automatically connect with command: " sqlplus / as sysdba "

Hi Atul,

Have you tried asking your database administrator on adding the required privileges? If the privileges have been granted already, is it possible to remove and then add the authorization back?

Issue has been resolved after restart system.
