Hi Friends,
We are planning to upgrade sap landscape. I need information about upgrade path. I want to know if direct upgrade is possible from
ECC:6.05/7002 to 6.17/7.40
BW : 7.01 to 7.40
EP : 7.01 to 7.40
Thanks,
The quick answer is YES.
The most important thing you need to check is whether the source OS and DB version is compatible for the target system release. For systems based on NetWeaver 7.40 you need to have a higher version of OS and DB. Check PAM for supported OS and DB.

Hi Deepak,
Apart from PAM you can refer to below wiki for rightly selected ESS/MSS combination for the ECC & EP upgrade.

Hello Deepak
Please check for ERP 6.0 update to EHP 7 check this guide
Check the section "Supported Source Releases"
For upgrade of BW ABAP to NetWeaver 7.40 check this guide and for Java check this guide.
Check the section "Checking the Source Release of the SAP System"
Additionally check the SAP note 1981278 - Central Note - Software Update Manager 1.0 SP12 [lmt_008] and the attachments that come with it.

Hello Deepak,
SAP Support Portal has a Upgrade Dependency Analyser available, which you can use, its available at the the link http://service.sap.com/uda
It does not replace the guides suggested by others here, however provides a high level view, which you can use to confidently embark on upgrade planning.
It clearly explains if a direct upgrade is possible and if there are any restrictions.
Regards,
Siddhesh
