Remote Client Copy failed at RFC DDIC System Comparison

Hi All,

I am performing a remote client copy from QAS to DEV.

The simulation run was completed successfully but i am encounter DYNPRO_SEE_IN_BACKGROUND error message from the source's system log during actual run.

It failed at very early steps, roughly around 1 to 3 minute after executed the client copy.

On the other hand, I tried to execute the client copy via foreground processes, it will prompt me a selection screen "Derivation Strategy" and the client copy process continue to run after i choose an option in the screen and proceed.

Would like to understand if anyone also encounter similar problem? How to due the case if i want to execute the client copy via background but need to deal a screen pop up?

Is it my authorization issue or functional problem?

Please advise,

Thanks,

Regards,

Thomas

If possible could you Ignore RFC Repository Check under expert settings & re run the client copy.

Hope this will help you.

Hi Thomas,

Please try these once

In Tx SE38, run the report RSCCEXPT and activate the following options.

•IGNORE_CON - Ignore Conversion Error

•NO_REL_CHK - Deactivate Basis Release Check

•NO_RFCCHK - Ignore RFC Repository Check

Hi Thomas,

Could you try to upgrade SAP_BASIS package from SAPKB70213 up to SAPKB70215 before execution of client copy & retry the process ?

Hi Gaurav,

Both QAS and DEV are having same SAP_BASIS Package level.

We can't just directly upgrade the SAP_BASIS packge to level 15.

Is that any other ideas for this issue?

Hi Thomas,

Could you share result from SCC9 by executing RFC System comparison,as you're getting issue during RFC DDIC system comparison.

Seems there may be some difference between ABAP dictionary between both the systems here.

Hi Gaurav,

I did run the RFC System Comparison, it shows everything fine.

No ABAP Dictionary is missing between source & target client. As i did ran the Simulation Run as well.

If this check is working fine than one option left is to upgrade SP level & can verify the things again.

Dont think it is good idea to upgrade SP level.

If really need to upgrade the SP level, it means both SOURCE and TARGET client need to upgrade as well?

I still thinking it might due to program error.

Dont think it is good idea to upgrade SP level.

It could be a bad idea not to upgrade SP level, but i would do to overcome the issues if like same.

If really need to upgrade the SP level, it means both SOURCE and TARGET client need to upgrade as well?

Yes you need to upgrade SP level both on Source as well as on Target client system.

I still thinking it might due to program error.

I too agree with you,yes it might be an issue with any program here,so at last i suggested you to upgrade SP level & confirm again.

Good luck !!

Hi Thomas,

I increased the parallel processes to 12 and scheduled job option on the menu option

Issue could be due to parallel processes defined here.I would suggest you to follow SAP note  212727 - CC-INFO: FAQs for parallel processes up to Release 4.6D

In the case of a remote copy, three processes are in fact recommended per CPU for the target database.

As the note is for up to release 4.6 D but still i suggest you to maintain parallel processes as per solution under it.

Hope this will resolve your issue. If still issue persists please share dump details.

Good luck !!

Hi Gaurav,

I've viewed the SAP Note and did changed the parallel processes to 2.

But it still doesn't work.

It is a program where my background process can't deal with the pop-up screen for "Derivation Strategy".

Please advise,
Thanks.

Hi Thomas ,

Use the following SAP Note to do the remote client copy

1537913 - Client Copy: Local & Remote copies, Client Export/Import and Client deletion

Use 2. Remote Client Copy in the above note

After putting the inputs click on the button "Schedule as Background Job"

Thanks ,
