LINE_ITEM_KEY in BRFPlus Flat Rule

I have few doubts about the column LINE_ITEM_KEY. Please don’t refer me to links in the forum as I went through it, tried reading it but sadly couldn’t understand.

1. What is the purpose of the column LINE_ITEM_KEY?

2. Is this a mandatory column for result data object?

3. If it is a mandatory column, then what value should be maintained?

4. While adding a value, in most documents no value is provided and for me if I don’t provide a value it is taking as “ “.

Hi Deepak,

1. Line Item Key field evaluates the BRF+ results based on Request Line Items and hence it is assigned to context parameter ITEMNUM

2. This is a mandatory column.

3. Value should be context parameter "ITEMNUM" which is a DDIC element GRFN_MW_LINE_ITEM

Hello Madhu Babu,

I tried creating two entries in the decision tree

1) New Account and

2) Lock Account

for new Account the line item key is taking the value as ITEMNUM and

for Lock Account in spite of assigning ITEMNUM it is taking the value as " ".

What does it mean?

Also, What is the meaning of Context Parameter?

Hi Deepak,

In BRFplus, input parameters are referred to as context while output parameters are referred to as result.

Are you using Decision Table or Decision Tree?
