BEX SSO issue

Dear All,

When the BW team is trying to broadcast a report in BW system they are getting a pop-up asking for user name and password. But, Ideally it should take the user credentials from SSO login. This issue is reported only in IE11 browser.

We have checked the SSO JCO connection testing & its working fine. Do some one have any idea on how to solve this issue.

Thanks & Regards,

Rajdeep

Hi rajdeep,

Hope you are doing good.

Nice to hear from you again.

Has the SSO ticket expired and is it loaded  correctly. Refer the SAP note:1083421 and configure the SS0 settings again. Please run the SSO2 wizard and then make the automatic connection to

the abap server. This will solve any inconsistencies on the server due to manual interventions.

Most likely reason for the error is that certificates were loaded manually rather than using SSO wizard.

More help:

You can also use the below link to search for the specific error in the R/3 traces (see the below link for an SSO failure example):

<http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-57078>

Hope this helps.

P.S: If you wish to check if SSO between the ABAP and the J2ee server is working, test using the method mentioned in note 1903560.

Dear Hemanth,

Nice to hear from you too again 🙂

The SSO connection between ABAP & JAVA is working fine also the SSO connection test in

irj/portal->system administration is working fine. Still we have re-exchanged the certificate and again configured the SSO and it worked fine. but my doubt is BW broadcasting through SSO is related to the ABAP-JAVA SSO connection?

Thanks & Regards,

Rajdeep

Hi Rajdeep,

If there is a logon prompt, then the mysapsso2 cookie is not being forwarded from the j2ee to the R/3 server.

Does the check as per note 1903560 work fine? If so, we will need to investigate further.

Hi Rajdeep,

If that is the case, then SSO does not seem to be the issue. Perhaps the BI setup itself is to be blamed. Some things that you need to keep in mind:

1)
To ensure a smooth configuration process, make sure that you have deployed the very latest patch from SAP Service Marketplace at <http://service.sap.com/swdc> for CTC Template for BI Java.

2)

From a technical perspective, BI Java 7.30 consists of the following J2EE

Software Component Archives (SCAs):

    o  BI-BASE-S.SCA - BI BASE SERVICES

    o  BI-BASE-E.SCA - BI BASE EXPORT SERVICES

    o  BI-BASE-B.SCA - BI BASE FOUNDATION

    o  BIWEBAPP.SCA - BI WEB APPLICATIONS

    o  BI-IBC.SCA - BI INFORM. BROADCASTING

You must install all components from BI-Java.  If SOME of these entries DO NOT EXIST, the usage type BI Java is not completely installed.

3)
After running the CTC Template for BI Java, run SAP NetWeaver BI Diagnostics & Support Desk Tool as described in note 937697 to verify your installation. In the "Advanced mode" of the tool, go

to the "Configuration checks" tab and check for potential red traffic lights. To resolve the issues shown there, check the "Remedy" column and follow the instructions given there.

Check these points; if these are fine, we can get some more traces and check.

Dear Hemanth,

As you pointed out on the above checks for BI Java 7.30, Ours is BI Java 7.00.Will the above checks be also valid for it?

Thanks & Regards,

Rajdeep

Rajdeep, all the steps are same except the SCAs involved.

-  UTs of SAP NetWeaver 7.00 (2004s):

Components of BI (UT_NAME =  BI):

FILE NAME         DESCRIPTION

BIIBC**_*.SCA     BI INFORM. BROADCASTING 7.00

BIWEBAPP**_*.SCA  BI WEB APPLICATIONS 7.00 (SP <current

version>)

BIBASES**_*.SCA   BI BASE SERVICES 7.00 (SP <current version>)

BIREPPLAN**_*.SCA BI REPORTING AND PLANNING 7.00

BIWDALV**_*.SCA   BI WEBDYNPRO ALV 7.00

Dear Hemanth,

I just checked for the Component you mentioned some of them doesn't exists in system.

Then I checked in BW production JAVA, there too these component doesn't exists but the issue is not happening there.

This issue is only seen in BW development & Quality where we recently have performed JAVA SP update from JAVA SP 27 to JAVA SP 30.

Not sure if this issue was there before SP update but recently the users started complaining about this issue after Sp update in development & Quality system.

Thanks & Regards,

Rajdeep
