Need to understand

1. if there is a predefined list of product categories
2. if there is a predefined list of products and they are assigned to the relevant product categories
3. if ADGs have been defined for these product categories.

Hello Puru,

a predefined set of Account Determination Groups are provided, while products and product categories are understood to be part of your individual business master data. Here some details:

Account Determination Groups

The predefined Charts of Accounts come with predefined Account Determination Groups. You can review/edit these in the workcenter “Business Configuration” in the activity “Chart of Accounts, Financial Reporting Structures, Account Determination” -> section “Account Determination Groups”

(Actually the predefinitions contain not only the ADGs but an entire “Account Determination Profile” that is using the predefined ADGs, and which you can see in the activity “Chart of Accounts, Financial Reporting Structures, Account Determination” ->  section “Account Determination”.)

Product Categories

You can define your Product Categories in the WoC “Product Data” -> view “Product Categories”. Alternatively you can use data migration template to upload your hierarchy of Product Categories (go to BC activity “Product Category Hierarchy” -> “Migrate Product Category Hierarchy using the migration tool”).

The assignment of ADGs to your Product Categories is then made in the BC activity “Default Account Determination Group for Product Categories”.

Products

Products are part of your business master data and not coming as predefinition. You can create products in the Workcenter “Product Data”, or via data migration (BC activity “Migration of Materials”/”Migration of Services”)

Hi Michael,

       Thanks for confirming this.

I knew we had ADGs predefined, however was looking to see if there might also be some products and categories that were predefined. But that is not the case.

Ideally some of the most common purchasing products should be made available as predefined.
