Impact of go-live in 2 phases

We are working on a project which consists of a single company code with 2 different locations A & B. Locations "A" consists of 12 plants and Location "B" consists of 5 Plants.Apart from this the corporate procurement function is common. The client has planned for Go-live at location "B" in phase 1 and after a period of 3 months, Go-live 2 is planned for location "A"

The concerns are:-

1. Few functions such as PP sub-contracting process is involved between location "A"  & Location "B".

2.  How to do reconcillation of financial entries & inventory.

3. HR payroll will be run in Quality landscape for initial 2 months period. How to bring the impact of payroll in SAP at finane level?

4. Does it make sense to do golive of both Location "A" & "B" at the same time.

Please provide your valuable inputs on this scenario.

Hi,

As Mukthar pointed out if it is independent it is no issue otherwise we need to do extra work.

for your points

1. Each plant is independent, sub-contracting work between plants having SAP and plants not having SAP will be treated as normal sub-contracting, Non SAP plant has to be created as vendor in SAP. during consolidation of SAP and non-SAP Financials this needs to be squared off.

2. Inventories are plant specific hence there wouldn't be any issue (except subcontracting scenario), Financials needs to consolidate SAP and non SAP trial balance till the non-SAP plants come in to SAP.

3. Pass Journal entry in FI (similar to HR not implemented)

4. It make sense but that should not drag your project completion, better to start with 5 plants (advantage client will get confident, understand about the system, user will be familiar with the transactions, reports etc.,)

If the locations are independent then you can go live at different date. If there are dependent each other then better to go live on same time.
