EVDRE TO EPM 10 MS report conversion assistance

I am working with a client who has an EVDRE report that they wish to convert an EPM 10 report.  I am looking for a way to build it in EPM 10 and running into a roadblock.  I have attached a screenshot of the EVDRE report format.  What I have done so far is to build one report and then use EPMRETRIEVE to retrieve the to other set of data.  This mimics the EVDRE report but I am not sure it is the best solution.  Any and all suggestions are welcome.   Thanks

EVDRE's were very flexible and interweaving them was possible whereas reports in 10 don't offer that functionality.  You obviously can build anyway you prefer, but I would use reports in a separate data section.  This would probably allow you to consolidate to a single pull which will more than likely perform better for the end user.  The report would then be built from the data pull using lookup functionality.
