MAIN_SHDRUN/ACT_UPG Error 904 in stmt_fetch() in dev_w0

Hi Friends,

We are doing upgrade from ehp4 to ehp7 and presently we are in

preprocessing stage in MAIN_SHDRUN/ACT_UPG phase and we are getting

error as F:\EHP7_UGRD\SUM\abap\exe/tp' failed with return code 200,

and also dispatcher went down for shandow instance.

In dev_w0 we see table DYNPSOURCE not found => synonym in shadow

instance Error 904 in stmt_fetch() from oci_execute_stmt(), orpc=0

i have restarted the shadow instance and repeating the phase presently

its running but not sure if it give same error.

Please find attached dev_w0 of shadow instance.

Hi Tabrayz,

After analysis of your shared log file i found

dbdynpdb2: table DYNPSOURCE not found => synonym in shadow instance?
C     OCIStmtExecute() failed with -1=OCI_ERROR
C     SQL error 904:
C  *** ERROR => Error 904 in stmt_fetch() from oci_execute_stmt(), orpc=0

A good news here is, you need not to be worry for the issue

as per SAP Note 2108598 - "dbdynpdb2: table DYNPSOURCE has no VERSION column" in shadow system

This does not relate to an error. You can ignore the entries in the trace files.

Rest you could refer SAP Note 1918279 - performance analysis for ACT_UPG phase as mentioned earlier by @Reagan to overcome memory related issues if any.

now we got another error as below and we have two options repeat the phase and Accept non-severe errors and repeat phase MAIN_SHDRUN/ACT_UPG can you please advice.

You could opt Accept non-severe errors and repeat phase MAIN_SHDRUN/ACT_UPG.But before proceeding can you share job log for RDDMASGL .

In shawdow instance sm37 i see job finished without any error

J Background job RDDMASGL ended correctly

Is any detailed log present for the job ? If yes please share.Also are you getting any dumps under ST22,if present then share it for analysis.

No there are no dumps and i selected Accept non-severe errors and repeated the phase and that phase is passed now its moving forward.

log folder was having below error  3hours back, after i restarted shadow instance log is not updated but in temp i can see logs are getting updated and workprocess are also running shadow instance.

Connect to the shadow system and check the background job RDDMASGL.

If the job fails due to memory related issues then you might need to adapt the memory parameters on the shadow system and restart the system.

If there is an ABAP dump generated then review the dump.

Job was canceled earlier when i got error, after that i restarted shadow instance and repaeated the phase and now job is active.

and also when job was canceled there were lot of users wokring in the system and also there was dumps PXA_NO_SHARED_MEMORY, But now no dumps and job is active

kindly let me know do i have to wait?
