Understanding of Segment Display Distribution button functionality

Hi Experts

When I click on Display Distribution, it shows the count for given filter criteria. And also it shows value for others (563) and No Values (35612). The addition of others and No Values is excluded value of given filter criteria (36,175). What is exact meaning of others and No Values? Why system is separately showing these two.

Though count is available in the staging area.  Sometimes Display Distribution shows blank page with message No Data Found. Why this blank page is coming? Please share your experience

Display Distribution without filter criteria:- It shows Others/ No Values , addition of others and No Values is Total value of Segment. But besides Others/ No Values also it shows entirely different values like 3000.0(1622), 0.0(563), 3500(65) & 4000(59). What is these values, any idea ?

Regards

Hamid

Hello,

please refer to the online help:

Graphical Modeling - Segmentation - SAP Library

usually the behavior of the distribution is depending whether there is a filter available for the attribute. If there is no filter maintained system takes all possible values and calculates the distribution. If there are filters maintained for the attribute system takes the filter values only and calculates the distribution.

The difference between the 'no values' and the 'others' is the following:

  • no values: all business partners from the segmentation basis that have no value maintained at all for a specific attribute
  • others: all business partners from the segmentation basis that have a value maintained that is different from the selected ones

When looking at your second scenario with the 'no data found' issue:

I can see there is a certain filter maintained, since the graph shows the selected filter values only it seems as if no business partner is available with that filter value. Any business partners with having no value maintained appear as 'no values', all business partners with having any different value maintained other than the filter value appear as 'others'.

When looking at the other scenarios with having no filter values maintained I can only guess the following reason: 'no values' is clear, shows all business partners that have no value for the specific attribute, 'others' however should have any value that is not available as a value for the attribute. I could imagine such issues when changing already assigned marketing attributes - this should not be done, and should not work, but who knows. This is just a guess that may explain the 'others' entries when using marketing attributes, for InfoSet Queries there may be various other reasons.

best regards,

Johannes

Hi Hamid,

Check the marketing attributes in  SAP menu- marketing- segmentation- maintain Data sources and attributes lists.

and also in CRM Web UI  screen check the filter criteria in Graphic modeler.
