Archive files for database are generating very quickly

Dear All,

My System suddenly generated very quickly archive log file

normally created 70 to 80 archive log file but yesterday created 350 archive log file

i unable to trace what happened

SAP - ECC 6.0

data base - db2 10.01

please suggest me for the same  

all job finished yesterday.

Hello Jitendra,

I guess it is caused by the high workload yesterday in your environment.

You can switch to ST03 -> Yesterday -> Workload Overview and compared the workload data with the other normal days. You can isolate the problem to a particular period of time when there are high database activities.

Besides, to check at which time the archive log increased too quickly. Please execute DBACOCKPIT -> Backup and Recovery -> Overview -> tab Archived Log Files.

I also suggest you that ask the business related persons to see if there are high activities and abnormal things yesterday.

i have already check the time which archive log file more increasing but that time no buddy do any high activities

Hello Jitendra,

Execute DBACOCKPIT -> Database XXX tab -> Performance, and then select the time period.

Drill down to the particular part with high resource usage (for example, top SQL statements...).
