Hi Reddy,

You can go service market place and download the following which will provide complete guidance for your project.

1. Master Guide - Enhancement Package 7

2. Update and upgrade guide for EHP7

3.Latest SUM13 guide  -

In pre-requistie section you have to prepare sheet for following things:

1. Media to be downloaded -  Can get info from http://service.sap.com/swdc.

2.  I can list some of the points which can be checked

  • Update Kernel (including R3trans,TP and Library) to latest from market place
  • Delta Check : Clean inconsistencies DD <-> DB in TA db02
  • Check for running or failed incremental table conversions (ICNV)
  • Check for any open repair objects in TR and release the same
  • Check for customer objects with TADIR-SRCSYSTEM = 'SAP'
  • Ensure that there are no unconfirmed Support Packages in your SAP system
  • Check latest SPAM/SAINT version to latest
  • Check file system requirement at OS level like /usr/sap/SID/SUM etc.

Hi,

Please check the following wiki page:
http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/TechTSG/System+Upgrade+And+Update

You can find all information what you need to do before you start your upgrade process.
I write here few of the main points.

  • Check your system for inactive objects.
Also for programs and dictionary objects.
If you find any inactive object you need to do a decision:
    1. Is that an own development?
Contact with the developer and check the status of thet object.
If neccessary activate or delete those.
    2. Is that a SAP standard object?
Check the version of the object, if that is still relevant try to activate those objects.
  • Check that yout live system is using the latest available compatible kernel.
If not please upgrade you kernel first.

But please checkthe linked wiki page, ther you can find all the informations about your question.
