SPAM - status could not be updated, rc 1, reason = "TABLE_UPDATE_FAILED: CVERS

In the downtime phase MAIN_NEWBAS/SUBMOD_UPSTAT/TR_PATCH_STATUS_UPGRADE!  i got the error:

4 ETG011 "SAP_BASIS start release:"

2EETG011 "Component or current release 740 invalid."

When i skip the phase i got the following error:

SPAM status could not be updated, TABLE_UPDATE_FAILED: CVERS

How to solve this problem?

Start Release:		731
Target Release:		740

As there are no log files attached to this thread it would be difficult to assist you. In any case I would recommend an OSS message and ask SAP support for help.

Hi Cheung,

-Could you please check for any inconsistencies in the tables CVERS ,AVERS and UVERS?

-Also please note these kind of issues occue due to incorrect table entries due to different reasons and as you mentioned  the workaround in the other thread will not work in all scenarios.

Hi Anand,

Yeah there was some inconsistencies in table CVERS, we do some changes and the upgrade was completed successfully!

i already try this workaround, but its doesn't work:

Take a offline backup of the current system and the upgrade directory.

Once the backup is there, please then restart the system and

run the report RDDIT022N as DDIC user in 000 Client.
