SAP BCS create data basis Message no. UGMD105

hello all

i tried to created a data basis by t-code UCWB. when i saved, the error message came out Message no. UGMD105.

A data element does not exist for field DEFVAL

Message no. UGMD105

Diagnosis

You added the new field DEFVAL to the field catalog. A suitable data element
cannot be found for this field.

System Response

Field was not created.

Procedure

Check the definitions in your field catalog.

can anyone tell me what the problem is?

For what purpose did you include DEFVAL into the infocube?

Typically the totals infocube is either a delivered BCS totals cube or a copy of a delivered BCS cube with a few simple changes to add/remove characteristics. The delivered BCS cubes do not include characteristic DEFVAL. Did you follow this approach?

thanks for your reply.

yes, i followed the standard approach. i did not add that field.

1.copy the infocube 0BCS_C10 as the InfoCube for Totals Records

2.enter the infocube in consolidation workbench

3.leave the IFC destination as blank

4.enter other required information and save

the error message came out Message no. UGMD105.

the message class UGMD is the PI message class.

i wonder if somewhere else about PI/XI need to configure.

Is characteristic DEFVAL included in the total cube?

Is characteristic DEFVAL included in the field catalog as the message states?

Is the databasis generated?

Is cons area defined and generated?

I think messages UGMD are related to BCS master data. Maybe you need only assign default values for the master data characteristics to resolve the error..
