Cache server is a replicated content server. However sometimes although cache server is installed, but cache server is not used at all. You can check if your cache server has data.
Anyway it should be ok if you only backed up content server. For the details about content server and cache server, please refer to link:
content server or live cache server runs on SAPDB (MaxDB), you have to configure the database backup and the log backup (same as other DBs) for complete recovery. search on SDN for the maxdb backup configuration.
