GR quantity higher than PO quantity without setting tolerance

Hi professor,

I have a GR problem, and it make me very confused. Here is the transaction steps.

PO quantity is 8 PC. and no tolerance set in PO, info record and material master, and never click the button unlimited in delivery tap.

1. Use MIGO movement type 103 to receive 8 PC.

2. Use MIGO movement type 124 to return 5 PC.

3. Use MIGO movement type 103 to receive 3 PC.

4. Use MBST to reverse the material document of point 2.

then, I can user MIGO movement type 105 to release blocked stock 11 PC (by releasing point 1&3 material documents).

It will over delivery by 3 PC.

有个问题请教一下。一般来说，如果在PO未设置收货容差或无限制收货，收货的数量是不能大于PO数量的。但是我们却遇到了这个问题。

PO数量是8件，未在PO/信息记录/物料主档设置任何容差，也没有勾选无限制收货按钮。

1. 用MIGO 移动类型103收货8件

2. 用MIGO 移动类型124退货5件

3. 用MIGO 移动类型103收货3件

4. 用MBST 冲销第2点124的退货，也就是默认移动类型125

然后，我就可以用105下达冻结库存11件了（第1点8件+第3点3件），这样就超过了PO 3件。

Unfortunately system is behaving as per its design.

System will not issue the message M7022 as because you have cancelled the 124 movement type.

At the time 105 movement type, system will propose both 8 and 3 quantity and also you can post the same without any error.

Hi Dibyendu,

But GR quantity can not exceed PO quantity while the PO is free of charge.

In this case, the material document generated by 124 can not be canceled.

It made me so confuse...

What is the difference between these two POs (instead of free indicator) ?

Is there any difference in tolerance limit. I just tested that, I can see the same behavior for both case.

PO without free indicator:

Step 1. Use MIGO movement type 103 to receive 8 PC.

Step 2. Use MIGO movement type 124 to return 5 PC.

Step 3. Use MIGO movement type 103 to receive 3 PC.

Step 4. Use MBST with movement type 125 to reverse the material document of step 2, i.e. cancel the returned quantity of 5 PC.

Step 5. Use MIGO movement type 105 to release blocked stock 11 PC (by releasing step 1&3 material documents).

Then GR qty is 11 PC, and PO qty is 8 PC

PO with free indicator:

Step 1. Use MIGO movement type 103 to receive 8 PC.

Step 2. Use MIGO movement type 124 to return 5 PC.

Step 3. Use MIGO movement type 103 to receive 3 PC.

Step 4. Use MBST with movement type 125 to reverse the material document of step 2, but failed. SAP prompt “PU Ordered quantity exceeded by 3 PC : TP-ROHTEST-01 33D3”

Step 5. Use MIGO movement type 105 to release blocked stock only 6 PC

Then GR qty will not exceed PO qty.

Okay, I got the situation. Yes, system is showing the message in case of PO line item with free indicator. I am not able to find any OSS note regarding this behavior. You can raise an OSS ticket to SAP.

PU GR blocked stock exceeded by XX : XXXXXX(material no) XXXX (plant) XXXX (Storage Loc) to put control over overdelivery GR block stock.

I think your missing some transactions. How you are using 124 movement type...

Please share your PO order history tab in ME23N and share screen shots for GR also..

Also please share Po header status tab.

count like 8-5 : 3 first and second step..

third step 3 +3 = 6

fourth step 6-2 = 4 quantity

Hi Ravindra,

The concept is like:

1. Goods receipt: 8 pc

2. Return 5 pic

            Total: 8-5=3. In GR block stock.

3. Goods receipt : 3 pic

           Total stock in GR block stock: 6 pic

4. MBST i.e cancel GR for 5 pic point 2

          Total stock after step 4 in GR block stock: 6+5(cancelled)= 11.

Sorry i am thinking Point 4 as 2 quantity reversed ...

show me how 105 movement type doing, with reference to what document you are doing.

Hope you have to give reference document as  reference. If you are given first material document number and entered quantity as 11 then system defiantly through  error because 11- 8 = 3 quantity exceeded.

Hope check whether you are given first material document number or both documents.

105 with ref to PO, then it wil consider both the material doc created with movement type 103.

Hope so, it is cleared.

This is system behaviour. FYI:  as the stock is in blocked stage, no acc doc gets generated.

Hi Ravindra,

Using tcode MIGO and select A05 Release GR Block Stock, then input the 103 material document number. please see the picture 1 in attachment.

Picture 2 is refer to the history of PO

System is working as it was designed. Since you have canceled the Return Delivery document for 5 qty through MBST, Total GR blocked stock becomes 11 (8 + 3). So you can recieve 8 qty for First Material document and 3 qty for Last Material document. But, still try to release the GR blocked stock for the First Material document (103) for 11 qty and you should recieve the Error Or Waring Message.

Further, the same design works for even the Purchase order has no Free Item ticked.

May be you have to write a custom code to restrict the qty as per your requirement.

I did  same process as you did.

1. I did MIGO M.type 103 to receive 8 pc, then

2. I returned 5 pc through MIGO Mtype-124.

3. and again MIGO M.type -103 to receive 3 PC.

Now MIGO Mtype -105 for point 1, here system will through a warning or error Message No. M7022

PU GR blocked stock exceeded by XX : XXXXXX(material no) XXXX (plant) XXXX (Storage Loc).

for the 1st Point you have qty only 3 PC because you have already return 5pc for this Material document more than that system through a message.

can you tell how system allow you receive more than this qty, did you get any warning or error message.

Please share PO history of above process.
