Will Import Wizard of SAP BO Explorer Client be able to open .biar files locally

Hi Experts,

I have few BO universes shared by a client with .biar extensions.

So my query is will I be able to open the files locally and see the reports.

I do not have any SAP BO server installed but only SAP BO Explorer Client .

Please let me know what will be needed for it.

HI Deshpande,

    1. SAP BO Explorer is a add-on on top of SAP BO Server. so, you must have a BO server defined(may be not in the same machine, can be clustered/remote BOE). so, please check with your administrator on the Server details.

    2. The .Biar file which has the universes can be imported to BO server through the Upgrade Management Tool (UMT) in 4.x or by import wizard (3.x versions).

    3. With SAP BO explorer, you can not do anything with .bair files.

    4. Import the *.biar files to repository and create Information Spaces and Exploration Views(In Explorer) on top of the imported Universes.

Thanks for the reply, As you suggested  I have imported the biar files from UMT after installing SAP BO trail server .

I want to open these universes now . How should I approach about it as I am new to BO environment.
