System is not allowing GR through MIGO for generic article in SAP Is-Retail

Hi,

I am trying to do a GR into DC through MIGO for a generic article and its variants but system is not allowing it saying " The generic article is not maintained in DC". System by design doesn't allow to maintain generic article for specific site but it does for reference site. It did not say anything at the time of PO creation but throwing error during GR. Looking for help!

Are you getting this issue in FMS system or SAP Retail system?

Hi Subhankar,

What is the ECC version you are using?.

I am using ECC 6, and it allows to GRN of PO's which has generic article along with its variants.

IN the MIGO screen, you can also observe a 'Tree Display' (an expand/collapse icon) at the line item level extreme  left next to line no.

This will group the generic & its variants articles (for convenient display).

Just to update you, You can't do GRN for the generic article itself into a site.

because the generic article doesnt hold any stock. the actual stock keeping unit is its variants.

Generic article is only for the purpose of grouping of variant articles so that it can be used conveniently in pricing, reporting etc.

In case of PO also, the qty at the generic article line item is always the total qty of all its variants.

Hi G Kumar,

You are correct, we cannot do the GR of Generic article at actual site. But here Subhankar is getting error at generic article level. Error is saying "Generic article # is not maintained at actual site level".

Probably, he is using ECC 6.0 >EHP5 and also Fashion Management system' Business Functions activated on top of ECC 6.0.

just to update, we are using ECC6 > EHP6 (IS-Retail).

'Fashion Management system' Business Functions are Not activated in our system.

This is the concern. We never came across the issue earlier during using Retail system. We are getting this issue in FMS system which is on top of Retail system.
