It identifies during extraction phase when it tries to uncar the files.

Hi Sowmya,

Thank you for the reply.

One more query here. How does SUM tool identify whether a SAR file is corrupted or not?

Hi,

If you go through the log file, somewhere you'll find "SAPCAR: error reading from filename.SAR".

Refer note # 1975925

Hi,

How does SUM tool identify whether a SAR file is corrupted or not?

During the extraction phase when you gets the issue, best would be to check with logs generated during the phase & steps. After analysis you would be able to find exactly for the main causes of failure of SAR file if any.

During process a SAR archive could fail with the following

error messages under log files :

non-unicode SAPCAR: format error in header

unicode SAPCAR: Illegal byte sequence

core dump when extracting files from an archive

Hope this would also help you.

Regards,
