Java code for logging from servlet on AS

Hi guys,

I have developed a servlet on SAP AS and I need to log information from processing. Can you please suggest me the best way to do that? I am not an Java expert but when I see the code I'd understand it. Can you please provide some Java logging example code which would work on AS 7.3?

hi peter,

you can use the logging mechanism of sap netweaver

• add a dependency to your servlet project (tc/bl/logging/api)
• create a Location variable. e.g: private static final com.sap.tc.logging.Location logger = com.sap.tc.logging.Location.getLocation(MyServletClass.class)
• use it. e.g: logger.infoT("start processing"); javadoc: http://help.sap.com/javadocs/NW73/SPS05/CE/en/com.sap.en/index.html
• to check the logs you have to use the log Viewer: https://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73ehp1/helpdata/en/47/af4560fa711503e10000000a42189c/content.htm

You can simply use System.err.println() or System.out.println()
