Can universe connect to restful web service which is not soap based

Can universe connect to restful webservice? I know it is allowed to connect to SOAP webservice. Currently is using WSDL1.1.

How about restful web service which does not have any wsdl file?

Did you get this working? I assume you had a similar question that I have now, I have to create a Universe by connecting to an External RestFul WebService.

Please let me know what you did to address this issue.

No. i did not get it work.. checked with SAP support team sometime back... the response was the webservice has to be soap based. i did not have a chance to explore other option....

Have you tried to use Odata Connector? according to SAP it should works for the restful webservice.

Hello,

I tried using the OData Connector, the only thing I specified was the Service Root URI and I got an error, "A problem occurred while communicating with the provider. Detailed message: Connect to ---------------.domain.com:11005 timed out" when I tried to test the connection.

FYI: I am able to open this link from the browser, no issues there.

Did you ever come across something like that?
