Contact person replication from CRM to ERP

Hi,

In our scenario, contact person should be created in either CRM or ERP.

Either way, the number range should be the same.

I've followed oss note 564538 and able to have the same contact person ID when creating contact person in ERP and replicating to CRM.

However, contact persons created in CRM and replicate to ERP are not having the same ID.

In CRM,

internal grouping - 500000000 - 549999999  - nr = 500000010

external grouping - 550000000 - 599999999

In ERP,

AP (internal) - 500000000 - 599999999  - nr = 550000020

Eg, A new contact person 500000010 is created in CRM, when replicating to ERP, a new contact person ID will always be created with the latest 550000020. It is not as what is stated in the OSS 564538.

While debugging, i've discovered that contact person would be created in CRM would triggered FM PI_BP_PROXY_BAPI_CUSTOMER in ERP and in line 1887 will call FM PI_BP_GET_NEW_CONTACT_NUMBER.

Any idea?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Julius,

The purpose of note 564538 is to help you to use another specified number range in CRM side when downloading contacts from ERP system. The note doesn't provide ways to assign a specified number range(or group) in ERP side when uploading from CRM to ERP.

The functionality you required is not supported in our standard system since it is contrary to the data models that are followed for contact persons in CRM and R/3:

In CRM, the same contact can be a contact person for several BPs.

In R/3, a contact can be associated  with only one customer.

Therefore, it is not possible to maintain the same number range for contacts in both CRM and R/3.

Thanks,

Best regards,

Julin

Hi Julin,

Thanks for the informative answer.

Do you have any workaround suggestion (development, if needed)?

What is the best option if a contact person were to become a individual customer in CRM?

1) Create another individual account for this contact person? As far as i am aware, SD contact person cannot used for creating sales document.

2) Add the Sold-To role to the contact person? Would a new customer master data be created?

In both options, how to ensure that the contact person relationship is still traceable to the original corporate account and individual account (if any) in CRM and SD?

Thanks in advance.
