SAP Sourcing CLM 7.0 System Copy Best Approach/Method ?

Hi:

We are planning to perform SAP Sourcing CLM 7.0 System Copy which is on SAP Netweaver Composite Environment SPS 11(Java Stack)  running
on Oracle 11g database and operating system is AIX 6.1. It has two databases, one is CLM database and other one is Netweaver Java database.

We are debating on which approach or procedure should we follow…!  Also in SMP, there is no such CLM 7.0 system copy guide to follow

  1. CLM 7.0 System Copy using SAPinst (export/import) with database specific Oracle Backup Restore Method.
  2. CLMP 7.O System Copy using SAPinst(export/import) with database independent Method ( this does n’t involve DBA)
  3. CLM 7.0 System Copy using Writeback or Refresh Method (according to sap note SAP Note 1594214 ) - This is totally DB Specific Method.

Appreciate your input and help!

Thanks,

Kumar

Dear Girish, I have a question and wondering if you can help. When you installed the CLM db (not the NW Java db), you must have installed oracle and created the db without using any SAP tool (especially for creating the db). So how do you perform backup of this db. The reason I am asking is, brtools require some tables etc in order to work and this custom db willnot have those. Those are only created in the db when the db is created using the SAP Tool. So in this case how it is setup. Please let know. Thanks
