Installation error while doing IPS installation

Hi Experts

I am facing an issue while doing installation of SAP IPS 4.1 sp5.

there is no installed file in the " Programs and features " list but while installing it is giving error as the selected file was already installed...but there is no installed file in Programs and features...how to solve this issue.

Are you installing with the same user as original install was done ?
this comes from windows install registry - new installer detected previous one. Meaning previous un-installation was not done correctly.

You might need to re-image OS on this box to get rid of it.
