Hello SAP Gurus,
We have installed the below HA System in our Primary Site.
We have same SID for SAP & DB. Due to HA, we used Virtual-Host-name/IP in our Primary Site.
Now we are in process of setting up our DR Site.
Our environment
OS : Solaris 10
DB : Oracle 11.2
SAP : NW7.0 / ECC 6.0 Ehp3 (Abap+Java)
Host-entry of Primary Server
erpph01 10.1.1.10 #Physical Host
erpdb 10.1.1.83 # DB Instance
erpd00 10.1.1.80 # PAS
erpscs 10.1.1.81 # Java CI
erpascs 10.1.1.84 # ABAP CI
Planned Host-entry for DR Server:
erpdr01 10.2.1.10 #Physical Host
erpdb 10.2.1.83 #DB Instance
erpd00 10.2.1.80 #CI+PAS
We got below queries:
Thanks for your feedback.

Hi Biborka,
Yes we already refered the attached documents and configured the Data-guard in our Testing Environment.
Since our production environment is in HA, we got below queries which is not clear in documents
1.Can we use the same virtual host-name for SAP & DB in DR Server?
2.How to up the DR Host in the fastest way without changing manually the ip address, host name in ABAP &JAVA parameter files, Instance Profiles ?
3.How we can synchronize from Production Site SAP Application files (Instance profiles, Java configuration files, binary files..) to Disaster Recovery Site?
Thanks for your valuable feedback.
Regards,
Mohamed Thahir
Hi Thahir,
1. Can we use the same virtual host-name for SAP & DB in DR Server?
In case of a DR you can change the IP behine the virtual name to DR servers. So in normal case virtual name will be point to primary servers and in case of DR, these virtual name will be pointing to DR servers.
2. How to up the DR Host in the fastest way without changing manually the ip address, host name in ABAP &JAVA parameter files, Instance Profiles ?
If you are using Virtual name in the sap configuration then you only need to change IP behind the virtual name at network end. No change at configuration level required amnd SAP should start fine.
3.How we can synchronize from Production Site SAP Application files (Instance profiles, Java configuration files, binary files..) to Disaster Recovery Site?
You can use snapshot backup of primary server and apply them on DR site on regular basis.
There are other third party tools also available, which can help you achive thos e.g Libelle.
