SAP ME 15 External Operation?

Hi experts,

Is it possible in SAP ME 15 to process external operations ?

We have a router where one operation is carried out by a sub contractor and we would like to continue using the functionality that is available in ERP to auto create the purchase order etc for this operation.

Just in case it makes a difference we are replicating routers from ME to ERP.

Hi Kevin!

All operations of ME routings are mentioned for execution by an operator/machine within ME by means of POD or Web service calls. So, there is no specific type of operations like "external operation".

If some units need to appear as "ready for consumption" during production process, you can use Create Trackable SFC feature of SAP ME.

What im trying to do is the same as described here :

External Processing of Operations - Production Orders (PP-SFC) - SAP Library

Is this supported by ME 15 as I cant find any mention of it in the ME 15 documentation.

The interface does not support external ECC operations, and neither does ME.
