Adding 2 different embedded connectors in same TREX instance

Hi all,

We  have tREX installed with installation type ESH  and version is 7.10 58 .

We have PLM connectors indexed as Embedded connectors from ECC and now we have request to add  SRM connectors also  in to same TREX instance.

ECC - PLM connector, SRM - SRM connector connecting to same TERX instance.

does the above scenario is possible can TREX handles 2 different Embedded connectors of 2 SAP SID?

Is it recommended to add  business objects thru SES_ADMIN  in TREX which is installed of type ESH?

Please suggest.

Thanks,

Subhash.G

Hi Sudhash,

yes, such installation is possible. However you should be sure that your TREX instance has enough
memory , disk space ... to handle the requests from all connected systems without impact on the
performance/stability .
By the way REV 58 is already little bit old. I would like to recommend to update this to REV 63.

Best regards,
Mikhail

thanks for reply.

Does it mean a single TREX SID distubuted  can serve multiple Embedded connectors from Mutiple SAP SID..?

Please confirm if the installation type is ESH , can we connect both embedded connectors and also configure search from SES_ADMIN also?

If we have multiple connectors with different connectors types like one is Embedded and another is SES_ADMIN [free text} does it corrupt the indexes ?

Please suggest..

Thanks,

Hi Subhash,

yes, such installation is supported. You can connect more than one ABAP or/and Java systems to the same TREX instance . Most important is that the TREX has enough resources to handle all requests in parallel. For production such way isn't recommended due to possible performance issues, but for test/quality landscape it's OK. You can use the same TREX instance for ESH and SES.

Hi Sudhash

Yes, it's possible to connect the single Trex connected multiple SAP SID's.(Based on your Trex instance resources)

In our environment SAP ECC Dev, QAS and Test system are connected a single Trex
