Depreciation simulation from past year

Dear experts,

We implemented Investment Management module this year. Now we are studying to simulate depreciation for Position ID and assigned Internal Order. The depreciation simulation report T_AR18 works fine if the position id is to be capitalized from this year and on. For those position id which was capitalized from previous year, we maintained the capitalized date of last year in simulation data of the position id and suppose the report will display the simulation depreciation value on remaining life, but the report does not display the position id at all. For example,

Position ID BU001 has budget 60,000 USD from year 2015, the asset class has 10 years life. Since it was capitalized last year, we maintained the capitalization date 15.01.2014 in depreciation data in T_IM12 so the remaining periods is 109 mths (=120 mths minus 11 mths of year 2014). And we expected to have depreciation simulation value 550.46 USD per month (60,000 USD / 109 mths). But the report does not display the position id at all while other position id's to be capitalized from this year display expected depreciation simulation value.

Did we maintain something incorrectly or miss any configuration steps?

Thanks,

Walter

Hi Walter

Report RASIMU02 (T_AR18) is supposed to forecast the depreciation in current year and future years. for past year, you have to specify the last day of last year as report date. or the report will not work as expected. you can refer to the F1 help of field 'Report date' in the report. this is the reason why the report works well for current year and future year but doesn't work for past year as expected.

Hi George,

Thanks for the information. The issue has been closed by changing useful life and period in depreciation simulation data. This message will be closed, thanks,

Walter

Hi inayat,

We do not wish to simulate depreciation for past year either. We suppose system could auto calculate the remaining useful life on capitalized date and the report date and calculate the depreciation value on that but it always calculate from current year on the entered useful life. Anyway, it has been closed by update the useful life and period per asset class in depreciation simulation data. Thanks a lot,

Walter
