Hi,
Is it possible to update the Total Replenishment Lead Time (MARC-WZEIT) dynamically based on a characteristic value?
Basically want to be able to set this value based on the value picked in a characteristic, i.e...
CTEST
A then set as 20
B then set as 30
Guess it would need a reference characteristic if possible, just don't know what one & how.
Any ideas. Please advise.
Thanks,
Rob.
Which object you are refering for "Total Replenishment Lead Time".
In variant configuration, you can use reference characteristics with dependencies to change field values in bills of material (BOMs), task lists, and master recipes.
use below link to find more detailes in sap help.
Changing Master Data with Dependencies - Variant Configuration (LO-VC) - SAP Library
check and reply, hope it will help you.
Thanks

Ritesh,
Thanks.
The field is the one in MRP3. It is used to propose the item availability when added to a sales order, therefore I was wondering if it could be changed based on a specific characteristic value.
Looks like it can not though - unless you have any other thoughts!
Thanks again.
Rob.
Ya thats how it work, and as material is not a part of single sales order line item , it will be affected every time you create a new sales order line if you implement such logic.
So mostly reference characteristics with dependencies to change field values in bills of material (BOMs), task lists, and master recipes.
Regerance characterstics with procedure works fine when we have instances related orders like, changing BOM quanitity of a production order BOM, so here you are not changing the original BOM but creating a production order specific copy of it and changing quanity based upon value picked by user.
Hope it will helps you.
Please close the thread if you got the answer.
Thanks
Ritesh
