Issue with depreciation calculation

Hi All ,

We are facing an issue with the depreciation calculation . The system is posting different depreciation amounts in different fiscal years .

For the FY 2013 , we have the depreciation of 120 . However , for FY 2014 and 2015 , the system is posting a periodic distribution of 180 per period .

The depreciation started in the month of May 2013 with an useful life of 4 years . Why does the system post different depreciation amounts in FY 2013 and different amounts in FY 2014 and FY 2015 .

What is your dep.key? Have you changed the dep.key in 2014 & 2015? And also if possible share screen shot.

Hi Mukthar ,

The dep key is a straight line depreciation . It has not been changed since .

How does the depreciation calculate for the first year , as the depreciation start date is from May 2013 . This is a straigh line depreciation key ..

Unable to share the screen , but i think we have found the root cause ..

its because of the settings in the depreciation key , where the amount is based on the percentage of useful life
