Is this the correct understanding: In ESS once u click the link, the application does't get opened up?

Is yes, make sure, your portal and your backend systems are in same domain. Most likely they in ur case the domain might be different.

Hi Pramodh,

When you say "You had to maintain host entries for the links to work", you mean like in system objects you have changed something?

Can you please explain it a bit? We are in the same situation.

hi  Syngeta,

please maintain the host entries in your local system and check  whether the links are working or

not.the path will be C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts.

Thanks & Regards,

945516 - Web Dynpro ABAP in a portal environment

go to SMICM and click on Go to > services in that check once with help of basis person and check in portal system object also how the domain name defined there once
