SUM - Upgrade Near-Zero Downtime RUN_CRR_LAST Error

Hi guys

While running an ERP EHP7 Upgrade, in phase RUN_CRR_LAST Phase im unable to proceed.

First this phase failed since PXA was too small, so many tables cancelled, therefore I fixed this issue by increasing abap buffersize parameter and no more dumps were found

So, when I try to restart the SUM Process Im stuck in this phase

In the logs its states

Im able to login to shadow instannce - Transaction CRR_CONTROL and its in yellow state, ready to be started.

If I started in manually, the upgrade says there is another so It has to be stopped. Then i restart the SUM process and it fails again

I have open a Support ticket.

       Checks after phase MAIN_SWITCH/SUBMOD_SWITCH_OLDREL/SUBMOD_CRR_LAST_CHTRANS/RUN_CRR_LAST were negative!

Last error code set: Single errors (code &lt;= 😎 found in logfile 'RSCRRLST.ELG'    

       Batchjob RSUPG_ISU_CRR on shadow system failed.
Detected the following errors:

I already restarted the  Server, ABAP, DB and SUM.

I checked the table CRRERROR and it hast 200 entries one of them has for example the table T5SKT

when I check the table CRRTASKINFO on the field ADDCHAR1 with T5SKT. It has no error status. I think that the Error is there but I that SAP confirms this to me.

Hi Jorge,

-Have you already checked the SAP Note:1678564 .

-Also you can try the following

-stop the transfer in CRR_CONTROL,

-restart the shadow instance

-start the transfer in CRR_CONTROL

-if it is green, stop the transfer

-repeat the phase

Hello All,

We solved the problem ! The trick was step 4 ! Repeat the phase without init !

Dear Customer,

Could you please perform the following,

1. stop the transfer in CRR_CONTROL in shadow instance

2. restart the shadow instance

3. start the transfer in CRR_CONTROL in shadow instance

4. if it is green, stop the transfer

5. repeat the phase in SUM

This should solve the issue. Please let me know the outcome.

That note was also helpful before entering Downtime, and a couple of tables were in Black Status and after restating I was able to move on

Sadly, this is no applicable to the situation Im experiencing now,

This same situation happened or another system being upgraded.

I proceeded to Start / Stop CRR Process and then I was able to restart SUM and continued to the next phase, but it does not seems to work on this system being upgraded

Its running an a SQL Server 2012 so it should not be a problem

In CRR_CONTROL, Im able to start process manually and there are six CRR process running in Background

My concern, should I wait until this job completes? Its been running for over 75.000 seconds and writing the CRR Logs in SUM Folder

If i Stop it, and the try to continue with SUM, it displays the message stated above

and if I dont stop it, SUM stated there is a duplicated Replication Process Running

Any idea how to troubleshoot this?

I let the Replication process ran for almost a day, it never stopped. Then I proceeded again to stop from CRR_CONTROL.

Restarted SUM Phase, and somehow it managed to continue, it stated it could not finish scanning file CSCRRLST_5, retry again and completed this phase.
