Connecting Crystal Reports to SAP Crystal Server 2013 SP1

We are trying to run a Crystal Designer 14.1.1.1036 to SAP Crystal Server 2013 SP1.  We can actually get it to work, but it looks like it is using dynamic ports and we want to assign static ports.

Crystal Server 2013 is running on Windows 2012 R2.  Windows 2012 R2 has the firewall running.

When we look in the logs from when the Crystal Designer fails to connect we see that is usually trying to connect on port 49397 or 49398.  When we do netstat on the Crystal server it seems that ports 49397 or 49398 are running under java.exe.

What can we do to manually assign the ports?  We have already assigned the input and output file servers to have static ports, and those ports are open on the firewall.  We see no blocked traffic, only on 49397 and 49398.

In the CMC, go to Servers.  For each "server", you'll assign a static "Request Port".  The Central Management Server (CMS) has two ports - the Name Server Port, which is 6400, and the Request Port - only change the Request Port.

Each server has to be restarted after setting the port, but you cannot restart the CMS from within the CMC because it will log you off the system.  So I would set all of them and then restart the Server Intelligence Agent.

Assign static ports to all the APS in your environment
