I was wondering what issues could arise when time evaluation is run and how those are solved?

Hi Jess ,
In time management perspective - Info type 0007 is mandatory and should be maintain time management status either 7 or 9 and should be work schedule rule .
Employee should not be login while processing live (time eval).
Groupings are mandatory check V_503_ALL
should be correct mapping in WSR /absence / quotas groupings (ESG and PSG).
if you create a custom PCR should be check correct validations like VARSTFREE (DWS =0 or not).
should be insert the custom rule in Schema...
