Hello All,

Was going through some links in the SAP Marketplace for SAP CRM IS Utilities however could not understand the term Service Notifications. I also looked at the forum however did not get any clue hence appreciate if the following queries could be known.

1) Difference between a Service Notification and a Service order

2) Is the Service Notification created as a follow up document to the Service Order or created independently

3) Does the Service Notification get replicated to the IS Utility Box

Kind Regards

Atul

Hi Keshav,

Please find the following details , may be it will be helpful to you.

1)  Service notification is created in case of emergeny shutdown , equipment malfunction scenarios. We can create follow-up documents for service notification like service orders as well.

2) It is created independently or a service order can be created as follow-up document.

3) Yes  service notification gets replicated to IS-U and we can see the same in IW53.

Regards,

Manjeet.

Hello Manjeet,

Thank you for your quick reply the information is really helpful

1) Service Notification- Service Order- When are both these documents created

2) Only Service Order Creation- Why is the Service Order created independently without the notification

Hi Atul,

If we want to use different transaction types for request, complaint, query in CRM CIC , we have to create notif types in CRM which will be mapped to notification types in IS-U. Based on the notification type , the respective service order is created in IS-U. So through notification we are linking CRM transaction types to ISU process. If you are only using a single transaction type for service order , you can directly create service order from CRM(no notificaton).

Manjeet.
