Re-Explode configurable product in ECC

Hi,

Background:

  • My company is selling configurable products via WCEM (Web Channel Experience Management) on top of SAP CRM, and the order is finally replicated into SAP ECC.
  • This scenario is working perfectly fine when the configurable product only is having 2 levels:
    • 1st level = The configurable product itself and
    • 2nd level = the delivery objects which comes from the configuration.

New scenario

  • Now - we have now been asked to introduce some new configurable products - which contains of 3 levels;
    • 1st level = see above
    • 2nd level = can be the delivery objects BUT can also be yet another configurable product.
    • 3rd level = the delivery objects below the configurable product on 2nd level
  • This scenario also works perfectly fine from a CRM perspective, but the problem is that in some sales organizations the BOM level per plant is only containing the products down to the 2nd level. Hence, if we explode the configurable product down to this level in the CRM order - it fails in the replication to ECC since the 3rd level products don't "exist" there.
  • Now... in CRM, we actually need to explode the configurable products down to the 3rd level since that is the level where we maintain the prices. So, currently we have a different item category determination rule setup in CRM vs ECC, where we for the configurable products on 2nd level tell the system to explode these in CRM... but in ECC they are setup to NOT explode.

Question:

Is there any way to explode the configurable product in SAP CRM down to the lowest level, but when we replicate the order into SAP ECC, we tell the system to re-explode the order/item categories again? Or... if we in any way can simply remove all the subitems of the configurable product (via code?) and only send the 1st level product itself + the configuration details... and allow it to explode according to item category determination rules in ECC?

Hi Alexander,

I'm not very good at configurable product.
But maybe you can find some clue from following link.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm70/helpdata/en/c9/4d0151c91dbb7ee10000000a445394/content.htm?frameset...

There are some different limitations between CRM and ERP.
You can check the difference from "General Differences" section.

Hope it helps.
