Hi,
I am trying to set up a few queries in MS Excel which will directly read the data from the SAP company database tables. The management wants to have some reports in Excel so that they can refresh as and when they want, without needing to log into SAP.
Is this usage of SAP and SQL Server (which is bundled with SAP) allowed as per SAP policy? Do such users need to buy any license, like Indirect Access license or any other license?
Thanks.
Hi,
Yes allowed and no licence required.
Thanks.

You should be able to do so with a SQL read-only user.
No additional license needed based on my understanding.
