BI 4.1 SP3 on Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard

Recently we upgraded our 4.1 SP3 servers from 2008 to W 2012 R2 Standard servers.

We had distributed environment so we took 2 servers at a time and remove them from the cluster

and upgraded the OS and re-installed 4.1 and added them back to the cluster.

But when we check the properties/metrics of the CMS or any other server it still shows

OS as Windows Server 2008 6.1 while CPU and RAM information is correctly reflected!

Is this is a know issue?

Thanks

Abdul

Generally it is not good practice for inplace OS upgrade. There might be some changes in the Windows internals, registries, and other binaries between 2008 to 2012.

Is your system working properly, or do you see any issues?

Strange, the version number of the OS has changed though.

6.2 refers to Windows 2012

in your case it had to be 6.3 but as the footnote in the below link states, it all about the application manifest.

Operating System Version (Windows)

Good catch though!

so if it updated properly it will show Windows 2008 6.3?  wish someone from SAP can comment on this to get a better picture!
