EPM Add-in is unmerging cells

Hi,

I'm experiencing a very strange issue with EPM Add-in. I need to merge some cells in Excel in order to deliver the correct formating for the customer.

Nevertheless everytime I execute Refresh, the cells are split again.

Do you know what trick I'm missing here?

Thanks in advance,

João Arvanas

Hello Joao,

Please check the other reports they hide the column axis and use some excel function to show them as you required.

See here between 11 and 15th rows I hide the some rows in the same way you have manipulate the things according to your requirement.

these are the formulas I used to build the above template..

its sample one, based on the requirement it vary ..

Hi all,

I have found the reason why it was not working,

I had to deactivate the option Keep formulas Static that Reference Report Cells.

Whitout this option selected the report doesn't unmerge the cells anymore.

Thank you all for your help.

Hi Joao,,

As far I know merging of cells in any axis will not work.

Even same for many of the EPM functions.

What is the exact requirement ?

Share the screenshot with explanation.

Hi Shrikant,

I needd to merge teh two yellow cells in order to Actual word appear centered.

I know there must be something to make this work because I have other reports with some merging. Nevertheless I don't know how it was possible because I was not the one to build them.

Can you help?

Best regards

Hi Joao,

Uncheck "Repeat Column Headers" from options- > Sheet option -> Formatting

But it will not merge the two cell and centered because its OLAP member.

Can check the formula of that cell which report you are referring with merged and centered cell.

You can do some work around if your column axis is static, hide column axis and use some excel formula to display merged cell and centered.

Hi Shrikant,

The problem is that those cells are not OLAP members. Those cells are excel based, because the customer has some specific needs in the header. The true OLAP members for the columns are 3 or 4 rows above.

That's why this is very strange.

Hi Joao,

I think this is by the design, that's why in previous comment I said hide column axis and use excel references to achieve desired result.

I hope this will solve your problem ...

Hi Joao,

It should work as it is not part of the OLAP formula in a report, been using merge and center many times in my reports. which version of EPM add on are you using?

make sure they are not part of the report, then it will keep its format.

Hi Joao,

"The true OLAP members for the columns are 3 or 4 rows above." - instead of above - make below

Below or above, doesn't affect the result. both will work.
