Hi,
I would like to know what is the best approach to perform the following OS/DB migration.
Current
Windows 2003 apps server (ECC 6.0 NO EHP latest sps)
AIX 6.1 Oracle 11g (Database Server)
Target
Windows 2012R2 apps server (Ecc 6.0 Ehp7)
Windows SQL Server 2014
So the options if you think in general are that, I take backup of the existing system DB and prep for OS/DB migration.
Should I install a blank EHP7 system first or install ECC 6.0 with MSSQL Server 2014 and then once I do the migration THEN upgrade to EHP7?
How,what ,why is it the best way?
From your experience.
Hi Jack,
A good note to also check would be:
1054852 Recommendations for migrations to MS SQL Server
Also review:
82478 - SAP system OS/DB migration
Supplementary information.
I would think if possible based on your support levels you should migrate first then do EHP upgrade on the target side.
Kind Regards,
Johan

You need to check many places,
For eg, PAM, heterogeneous migration guide, OS/DB compatibility notes and many other places.
If ECC6.0 is compatible with your target OS/DB then better you 1st migrate and then upgrade the system to EHP7.
