How to Generate Server URL at runtime

Hi,

Currently; once the Gateway service is bound to excel template then the Add-in permanently saves it. So, whenever user opens it , it ask login credentials of that system.

So, for all systems in landsapce: Dev, Q, Prod. etc. we need to generate new template with mapping to relevant system.

Is this the regular approach? If not , how do you handle this?

Hi Rajan,

yes, that is correct. The assumption is that most of the productive users will only connect one template to one system (e.g. the productive system). Usually in these scenarios you will also have Single Sign On configured so users should also not need to manually log in.

I guess in your scenario you are still in the development / creation process of your Excel template. In this case you will need to switch the URLs to Dev, Q and Prod for testing -- but that should be easily possible by either creating multiple templates or by rebinding the service.
