We want to update the account and hierarchy manually in BPC.
But once we start to update on automated basis for master data from ECC, will it work okay? Or will there be any issues.
We just want to make sure that both can be complimented well.
Appreciate inputs..
SAP offers free content to licensed BPC customers with the SAP Extended Financial Planning Rapid-deployment Solution. This content is available to download immediately at the preceding link and the BPC content can be restored into your environment in a matter of minutes using UJBR.
This RDS offers best practice integration techniques in the G/L Financial Planning module. This includes a load of the G/L Account dimension from ECC via BW, including a hierarchy load. As best practice, the RDS handles the load of account text/attributes (task 1) and the account hierarchy (task 2) in what is called a BPC Package Link, which creates one job out of two tasks. You have the option to maintain the account hierarchy in BPC only.
As an example of the RDS capability, the RDS introduces a best practice BPC property/attribute called "Row_source" in the account dimension (and other integrated dimensions)

Hi,
Please provide us more detail about your system at least which BPC version you are using? IS it 10.0 or 7.5.
If you are updating master data and hierarchy manually there should not be any issue, If you are doing it properly. It not best practice that load data directly from the ECC.
Ideal flow is like ECC--->BW--->BPC
When you use DM package then you have to prepare Transformation file and conversion file if required and validate it. If it loads the data properly then simply schedule data manager packages.It will work seamlessly.
Basically there is no as such any issues for automating the process.It will load data properly.
For loading the data please refer below theads and documents
For automating data manger packages please refer below doc.
