How to get Index Failure Notification on Mail for Explorer Scheduling

Hi Experts,

We are currently on:

SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 5 Patch 1

Version: 14.1.5.1533

We have an explorer report which is created based on a universe(.unx), and we have scheduled this report to index every night at 2.00 PM. Sometimes scheduling fails and we don't know until business user tells us that report is not working(We want to avoid this).


I want to know do we have any option to send a notification on mail when a index fails while scheduling. I know this we can do it for a Web Intelligence report but I didn't get any option for an explorer report.

Please let me know if we have any other option to do this.

Hi Gandhi,

I don't think we have any other option to send an email as in Webi.

However If the indexation gets failed, the status is displayed within the Status

pane in the Properties tab.

It includes information the start date, end date, and the cause of failure is displayed.

Thanks for your quick reply.

I know that failure index status is shown in the properties tab. But that is like a manual work where every time we have open the report properties and check. I want to know if there is any automated process to do this so that we will get to know the failure status without opening the report properties. Like E-mail (I know you said no) or BI inbox etc.
