Till now we had two UIs: Silverlight and HTML5. Now a new UI "Responsive UI" is being introduced. The statement is that Responsive UI is not aimed to replace HTML5. Also a new mobile client is being introduced for tablets and smartphones.
Soon we will have 3 UIs on desktops and 3 clients on iPad that will coexist? It seems a confusing strategy to me.
Kind regards,
Borut
Dear Borut,
Thank you for your feedback on this important matter.
SAP has stated the intent to fully embrace the Fiori framework of design thinking, user centric design and associated technologies to power future user interaction for end users working with SAP SaaS offerings, services, products and solutions.
http://www.news-sap.com/saps-bill-mcdermott-cant-let-complexity-win/
McDermott wants every SAP customer to share the same success as Conagra and Nespresso by running a simple user experience with Fiori capabilities. “Everyone said we shouldn’t charge for Fiori. I agree. Fiori is now included free. We believe the future is not what you get from customers but what you give to them. SAP is with you every step of the way. We promise to be your trusted innovator whether running on mobile, on premise or in cloud.”
It is with this background that SAP Cloud for Customer (C4C) has embarked on the journey to fulfill on this promise from SAP to end users of the C4C SaaS offering, by offering a fully Fiori powered user experience that you have referenced as the “Responsive UI”.
Our overall guidance to C4C customers as of the moment is as following:
As regards mobile device based end user interaction with C4C:
Stay tuned for further updates via our quarterly calls that we hold for the ecosystem with every release of the C4C SaaS offering to understand how the user interaction will converge and how SAP articulates mobile device format based interactivity to help C4C customers Engage Customers Like Never Before. The next quarterly call is planned for the August 2015 release according to the information available at http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-63524
Thank you for your time and attention,
Your C4C SaaS Team

Hi Pushkar Ranjan,
Thanks for your detail explanation on different UIs.
I need more information on development environment require for custom solution or enhancement.
Currently we are using SAP Cloud Application Studio. Can you please help me understand what will be the impact on the development environment to be used?
Would we have to start using new development environment or would we be able to achieve the Custom development using Cloud Application Studio?
Also in case, if new development environment is to be used in coming future, which would it be?
Regards,
Mithun
Thanks a lot Ankan Banerjee,
I really happy to hear you that we can continue useing SAP cloud apps.
Thanks Again,
Regards,
Mithun
Hi Mirza,
yes, absolutey. SAP's Cloud Applications Studio (SDK) can be used to extend C4C. The outcome of these extension projects is always and immediately a ready-to-run app in SL, HTML5 and also the new responsive FIORI-based HTML5. Please sign-up for SAP's Cloud Solution Partner program ("in app extensions") to realize such C4C projects. If you have further questions please also refer to the following web session:

Hi Borut,
Responsive UI focuses on Cloud mobility for next generation of mobile framework based on hybrid container, responsive UI (based on SAP UI5) and offline technology
Responsive UI enhancements in iPad and Android Tablet
1. You have GPS coordinate capture for check-in and checkout during visits.
2. Map View: Map feature parity is the same as available in HTML5
3. Quick Order entry is available.
4. Notifications are supported in the Responsive UI similar to HTML5 and Silverlight.
You can refer to SAP User Interface Technologies blogs for further details
