transaction rolled back by an internal error: exception 70000008: host unknown

Hi Experts,

We are trying to do real time replication by EIM flowgraphs. Though we were successfully able to create the flowgraph we have the below error while calling the stored procedure.

Could not execute 'call "SCHEMA"."SDQ_SDI_PGPROJ::REALTIME_ECC_HANA_SP"' in 1.004 seconds .

[129]: transaction rolled back by an internal error:  [129] "SCHEMA"."SDQ_SDI_PGPROJ::REALTIME_ECC_HANA_SP": line 5 col 1 (at pos 120): [129] (range 3): transaction rolled back by an internal error: exception 70000008: host unknown

Our requirement is to move entire ECC data to HANA Schema and transform the same to another schema from which the data will be extracted for reporting. To accomplish this we have already pulled the ECC data via SLT to HANA and are using EIM for realitime replication to second schema.

Could someone please help.

Hi Meduru,

As Johannes mentioned, it would be good to get more details from the DP Agent log specifically.

c:/usr/sap/dataprovagent/log/Framework.log if you chose the default installation path.  It would be great if you could post any errors to have a better idea of what went wrong.

Best Regards,

Richard

Have you also looked at the tutorials by SAP HANA Academy on SAP HANA EIM SPS09:

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLkzo92owKnVwQ_preA3cxlQjn_v3W0Eh5

There is also one video explaining direct replication form ECC systems (without using SLT to move data to a schema in HANA first).

Hello Meduru,

we are also planning to use EIM for real-time replication from an Oracle database to SAP HANA. We are still struggling with this task.

I cannot tell you the solution to your problem. However, I suggest looking into the log files of the Data Provisioning Server on SAP HANA and into the log files of the Data Provisioning Agent on your ECC platform. They are not easy to read but they exhibit the root cause for many abnormal situations.

  • You find the log files on SAP HANA here: Administration > Diagnosis Files > dpserver*
  • The location of the log files of the Data Provisioning Agent is mentioned in the SAP HANA Enterprise Information Management Administration Guide. Please see sections 4.3.6 and 6.

Hope it helps!

Regards

Johannes
