Hi,

In ECC 6 EHP 7 upgrade, in phase "MAIN_SHDIMP/SUBMOD_SHD2_RUN/RUN_RSCPFROM_CRR_UPTIME" we are facing the below issue (we are using SUM tool patch 0 for SUM 1.0 SP13).

Last error code set: RFC error system DER nr 21 function

Hi Laurent,

After checking shared log file,for me it's an issue which is related with SUM tool,for more on it please refer SAP Note  1791429 - SUM SP5: Inconsistencies after upgrade

As you're already using the latest one i.e SUM 1.0 SP13 but this could also be fishy,yes you need to wait for revert from SAP Support and you may need next patch for SUM 1.0 SP13.

For your information, i reset the upgrade and restart afresh without parallel transport (number process for R3TRANS set to 1) and the upgrade is OK.

Couple of questions

1 ) Did you restart the server , after step1 [ replacaing the kernel files ] , if not perform the same .

2 )  Log into the system and check for any dumps in ST22

Yes i retsarted the server and there is no dump on the shadow instance.

Hi Manu,

I'm using SUM tool patch 0 for SUM 1.0 SP13.

There is no more information in the log but when i'm connecting on the shadow instance i see that report "RSCPFROM_CRR" contains syntax error and the variant "SAP_CPFROMCRR_UT" doesn't exist.

I have raised an oss message since 2 days but i don't have any response.

Since there is a syntax error feel  need to  wait for SAP suggestions . ( Could be issue with the SUM tool itself )

But can you check on the following

1 .Is the /tmp  directory Full

2 . Can you reconfigure parallel_generators in RZ12  ( delete , save and recreate )

Hi

Perform the same once again but after doing the following

• Import of R3trans with parallel processes
  If you have configured parallel import processes for your transport landscape as described in SAP Note 1127194, deactivate the parallelism as long as you do not have the required patches installed on all SAP systems in your landscape. In order to verify the parallelism setting, check the transport profile /usr/sap/<transdir>/bin/TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL (where <transdir> is the transport directory and <SID> is the system ID of your transport domain controller system). Search for the line "parallel =...", in which the degree of parallelism of the transport tools used is defined, and set the value for parallelism to 1 to deactivate the feature.

Below part of the note that I applied :

3) During an upgrade or update:

• Stop the upgrade/upgrade as soon as possible, for example, using the GUI menu option "Update -> Stop Update".
• If a shadow system exists, check whether it is active, and if required, stop it. To do so, log on to the host of the central instance as the user <sid>AMD, and execute the following commands:
  • CALL QP2TERM
  • cd /usr/sap/SID/SUM/abap/bin
  • export LIBPATH=/usr/sap/<sid>/SUM/abap/bin
  • SAPup stopshd
• Switch to the directory /usr/sap/<sid>/SUM/abap/exe, which contains the kernel in the target release for the shadow system. Using the user <sid>ADM, replace the existing object dbdb4slib.so or dbdb4slib.o in this directory with the advance patch in the kernel version of the target release.
• Stop the original system (if necessary) and implement the advance correction for the release of the source kernel in the original system as described under point 1).
• Delete the SQL packages to make the change effective: DLTR3PKG SID(<sid>) MODE(*ALL)
• Start the shadow system (if it was started before the upgrade was stopped):
  • CALL QP2TERM
  • cd /usr/sap/SID/SUM/abap/bin
  • export LIBPATH=/usr/sap/<sid>/SUM/abap/bin
  • SAPup startshd
• Start the source system (if it was started before the upgrade/update was stopped).
• Proceed with the upgrade or update.

I have downloaded :

     - lib_dbsl 422 for the source kernel (721_EXT)

     - lib_dbsl 111 for the source kernel (742)
