Flat file directory

Hi All,

I am newbie and help understand the below.

From the below screenshot , The source is flat file and instead of path for the root directory & file name(s) it shows as Global variables.

And attached the properties of the job and the global variable is not assigned with any values.

Please help me understand.

Hi,

Do you want to use the variable? If not just type in the root physical path  where your flat file is located then enter the filename.extension in the filename field.

My question is in the root path I can see a variable, but in variable definition I don't see any values.

Check whether those $GV are getting updated in any scripts within the job dynamically.

Hi RUC,

You can type any text or variable in the root path it doesn't have to be defined. Check in scripts or in variables from menu>Tools if you have that declared any where.

If you want to define that path then it's better to use Substitution parameter variables (Tools in the Menu).
