HI,

Is it possible in standard SAP to generate or pass Billing number externally during billing document creation (VF01) ? instead of generating numbers internally within SAP

If you check the sales document type or delivery type configuration, you can see that you have the option to set external number range object.  But if you check the billing document type, you don't have such option which means, SAP does not support external number range for billing.

Hai,

As per standard, i hope billing number cannot be entered manually / external.

But You can make ur own format and maintain in the RV_BELEG number range object.

In case if you want plant wise / customer type wise then make a enhancement to read the Number range accordingly.
