Impact on BCS when upgrading SAP BI 7.0 to 7.3

Dear All,

BCS is installed in our SAP BI 7.0. Now we are upgrading SAP BI 7.0 to SAP BI 7.3. Could anyone please suggest, what are prerequisites need to be taken care. Is any patch level need to be install after upgrading?

Suggestions will be very helpful.

Dear ALL,

Currently SEM 600 available in BI 7.01. As software downloaded from Solution Manager for 7.31, SEM BCS 736 downloaded. We have upgraded Dev system and it was done fine. So wanted to make sure that while upgrading in QAS and Prod, there wont be any impact in the existing reports for BCS.

If anything comes up from your side to taken care then please share.

Hi,

If you want to be sure that everything works fine in your prod system - take a system copy from prod and run a test upgrade, correct the errors in the copy and the prod system.

After this you can run the prod upgrade.

Then take a copy from the upgraded prod system and use this as your new QAS system.

As per my knowledge once upgrade happens need to log into BCS and check everything fine or not.  In some scenario need to regenerate data basis in BCS.

Check other regular activity to do in BCS working fine or not and act accordingly.

Could we regenerate data basis in Production directly? Will it be any impact in the existing cube data or in report?

If you involved in BI upgrade activity then please share. BCS is bottleneck for us before upgrade the system.
